About AutoInsuranceGuide.us
We compare auto insurance companies through the lens of who the driver is — not just which company is cheapest on average. Your profile matters more than the national average.
What Makes Us Different: Driver-First Research
AutoInsuranceGuide.us was built around one problem with most insurance comparison sites: they show you national averages that have nothing to do with your actual rate.
A 22-year-old with one speeding ticket in Florida pays 3x more than a 45-year-old with a clean record in Indiana. Recommending the same insurer for both is useless advice.
We organize our research by driver profile: new drivers, seniors, high-risk drivers, military families, college students, EV owners. Every recommendation is built for a specific type of driver — not a statistical average.
Our Review Methodology
We collect and analyze rate data from the 8 largest US auto insurers across 15 driver profiles in 30 states. Our data is refreshed quarterly using publicly filed rate information and independent quote testing.
We obtain quotes using standardized driver profiles at each insurer. We compare minimum coverage, full coverage (100/300/100), and common add-ons. Rates are verified against state insurance department filings where available.
We analyze J.D. Power Auto Claims Satisfaction Study scores, NAIC complaint ratio data, and AM Best financial strength ratings. An insurer with cheap rates but poor claims service scores lower than an insurer with average rates but excellent claims handling.
We catalog all available discounts per insurer — bundling, good driver, good student, military, telematics, multi-vehicle, and more. We calculate the realistic discount stack for each driver profile to estimate true out-of-pocket cost.
App rating (iOS + Android), online quote process, policy management tools, digital ID cards, and ease of filing a claim online. Insurers with 4.5+ rated apps and full digital claim filing score highest.
